DIY Creamy Body Butter

There is nothing as soothing or feel good as lathering yourself after a hard days work with rich creamy body butter that is free of dangerous chemicals and you can pronounce every ingredient in it. The following is a very simple basic recipe for a rich creamy body butter and also added will be how to make your own body butter bars. You can add larger portions of the ingredients or cut the portions to the size you need when you create this.

1/4 cup coconut oil

1/4 cup shea butter

1/4 cup cocoa butter

10 or more drops of your favorite essential oil ( I love lavender and frankincense essential oils)

Add the butters and oil into a double boiler and heat on low until melted. Remove from heat, add your essential oils and let cool slightly. If you want whipped body butter, beat oils with mixer when it has cooled down until it is light and fluffy or just pour mixture after slightly cooled into a pretty glass jar or container and leave at bedside.

Body Butter Bars:

Follow the exact recipe above, except add 1/4 cup grated beeswax to mixture and heat on low in double boiler as stated above. Remove from heat and pour mixture into soap molds of your choice and the size you need. You can refrigerate the molds with the butters to speed the firming process. Once firm, wrap in plastic wrap and use as needed. just slather on body parts that needs extra special attention to sooth dry, flaky skin. Enjoy!
