This is a simple basic recipe for coconut oil lip balm and is yummy, soothing to dry chapped lips and perfect for everyday use. You can order your lip balm tubes at Mountain Rose Herbs for a very reasonable price and you can reuse them also! Or you can add the lip balm to a pretty glass jar or tin and keep in your purse. The ingredients will be approximate and you can play around with them until you find the consistency you want.
4 Tablespoons organic virgin coconut oil
2 table spoons organic beeswax
5-6 drops of your favorite essential oil. I like lavender best with mine
approximately 6 to 8 lip balm tubes or 2-3 tins or small glass containers
In a double boiler melt beeswax and coconut oil. Once melted remove from heat and pour ingredients into a glass measuring cup or a container you can easily pour with. Add desired essential oil and mix thoroughly. Pour into your containers and done! The mixture will take approximately 2 to 3 hours to cool and harden and then it’s ready for use. These make wonderful gifts for family and friends and you can design the containers anyway you wish.
